 The Challenge

Trello is a project management application, that is designed to help its users to organize their projects as well as to help them complete them on time. The existing application uses a card system to help keep track of projects. Unfortunately through extensive user testing the team found that this can be cluttered and confusing. So we decided to create three new features for the application.

The Project

As a team of 3, we created three new features for Trello’s IOS app. Beginning with, visual project analytics and project milestones. Visual project analytics showed each project’s progress towards completion. Next, a points system was integrated using percentages of how much of the project has been completed; Finally users were able to visualize their contributions using dots. The users were able to set milestones for their projects.

My Role

My Role in this project was to create the prototypes. The software I used was Azure RP Pro, Adobe Illustrator and After Effects. Azure was used to create the High and Low fidelity wireframes and Illustrator and After Effects were used to create the interactive videos.

Activity View

Instead of presenting a list of projects first, it makes more sense to present a feed of recent activity. This serves as a new hub for the app which can guide the user into their workflow, based upon relevant updates.

A more logical layout for the project selection panel, which is unified with the in-project card design.

 Self Reflection

While working on this project, I learned how to work quickly and efficiently in a team. Furthermore, I learned how to refine my wireframing skills, therefore creating both high and low fidelity protoytpes. I also learned how to make the protoypes interactive to make them testable, using software such as Adobe After Effects. Such skills are also transferable to various other projects and settings as these protoyping skills can demonstrate to employers that I am aware of and can also implement the latest UX/UI design principles.
